Ultimate College Softball
NCAA College
Softball statistics
To-do" list for
Juniors... From Vikki Harrison
I hope this list will help
Colleges know your out there looking for an education
through softball.
Do this for youselves.....
-
Make a list of
Twenty Schools you would
actually go to. Not a wish list.
-
Write
letters to
all these schools introducing yourself, including your bio and cd.
-
Send another 25 letters to schools that
are on your "I might go there" list.
-
Review you career plans and decide which
type of school is right for you.
-
What grades do they require?
What you need to do to get them there?
-
How much money does it cost to go to the
school, books & dorms, food?
-
Have you taken your PSAT /
SAT / ACT tests and what
do these schools require?
-
Have you talked to your High School
counselor for registrations materials and test dates for the Sat if
you haven't taken it yet. Full information about SAT
testing can be found at
www.Collegeboard.com.
-
Do you have a Social Security Card yet?
-
-
Obtain dates and locations of schools
offering College Fairs & Camps?
After your Junior
Year :
-
Start scheduling visits to 3-5 schools
you really want to see by the end of your Junior year.
-
Find out when the registration period
is
for each school.
-
Keep playing
Summer Fastpitch Softball
for exposure.
-
Email the Coaches to let them know your
Team Schedule.
-
Make sure your Manager / Coach knows to which
Schools you have written.
-
Take the AP exams while information is
fresh in your mind.
-
What position you would be willing to
play if they don't need a player for primary position?
-
If your parents qualify for grant and
aid, where do you get federal funding.
-
Every player wants to go to Division I,
let them know your out there, but
think about Division II & III also. There is also NAIA, which has great Christian Colleges.
Keep up the hard work - Eventually something will click.
